For Undergraduate Studies

The medium of instruction is English in the undergraduate program. Please refer to the guidelines on the HU Office of Student Affairs' Web site for admission procedures.

For Graduate Studies

The medium of instruction is Turkish in the graduate (MSc and PhD) programs. Foreign students who do not speak Turkish can study at the Turkish language preparatory school before they begin their graduate studies.

Since almost all reference materials are in English, foreign students do not usually have difficulties originating from the language. Personal communication with the supervisors is obviously not an issue for those fluent in English, and foreign students can write their theses and dissertations in English as well. Nevertheless a basic knowledge of Turkish is required to be able to comply with the application requirements.

All application procedures are carried out by "HU Institute of Pure and Applied Sciences" for graduate studies. Please refer to that site for announcements and other details. As of present time their English language Web pages may be limited; however one can click the "English" link at the top of the page and then follow the "Announcements" link to see basic admission requirements.
