Hacettepe University Robotics Student Society receives another award from ITU Robotic Olympics

Our department's undergraduate students and Hacettepe University Robotics Student Society members Mr.Tugay Arslan, Mr. Bakir Mert Caner and Mr. Kemal Burak Dogan were awarded first runner-up in the "innovative category" of the "Istanbul Technical University Robotic Olympics (ITURO) 2012" competition with their project called "Unmanned Air Vehicle". The competition, organized by ITU Control and Automation Student Society (OTOKON), has been held annually for the last six years.
This year, ITURO was organized between April 12-14, 2012 in Istanbul Technical University, Ayazaga Campus, Istanbul.

ITORO, which has the primary priority in the calendar of robotic enthusiasts every year, aims to help students, academicians and industrial parties collaborate in robotics-related fields through sharing their works, ideas and capabilities under a competitive organization. The competition includes categories such as Line Follower, Mini Sumo, Fire Fighter, Vacuum Cleaner, Balancing Robot, Maze Category and Innovative Category.

The Hacettepe University Robotics Student Society ( was founded by our department's faculty member Dr. Atila Yilmaz in 2005, and has collected more than ten prestigious awards from many national and international competitions since its inception.
