Dr. Emre Aktas
Biography
Emre Aktas got his B.S degree from Middle East Technical University,
Ankara, Turkey in 1996, and MS and PhD degrees from the Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, USA
in 1998 and in 2002, respectively.
He worked as a post-doctoral researcher
at Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ, USA, and as a research fellow
at the University of Melbourne, Australia, from 2002 to 2004.
He joined Hacettepe University Department of Electrical and Electronics
Engineering in August 2004, where he is currently an assistant professor.
Research interests
Applications of communication theory, statistical signal processing
and information theory to wireless communication systems
Training in fading and dispersive multiuser channels
Iterative message passing methods in communication systems
Channel estimation, equalization and multiuser detection
PHY-MAC interaction in wireless networks
