May 19, 1919, the day when Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk ignited the torch of independence, marks not only the beginning of a liberation movement, but also the founding of a modern, independent, and strong Republic of Turkey. The path shown by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk represents the very essence and tradition of the Republic we possess today. Following his light and faithfully upholding his legacy is among our most important duties.

With these feelings and thoughts, we commemorate Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his comrades-in-arms, and all our martyrs and veterans, with gratitude and thankfulness. We sincerely celebrate the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day on May 19 of all our youth, who are the guarantors of our nation and our future.
